The Environmental Competence Center is a Forem training center, a member of the network of certified competence centers in Wallonia. We offer trainings in environmental issues for a variety of audiences. Our trainings cover environmental management, waste management and treatment, energy management, renewable energy, and quality management. The environmental center is certified ISO 9001 and is an approved training and testing center for refrigeration technicians, G1 boiler installers (CEDICOL), PV panel installers (QUALIWATT), and solar thermal panel installers (QUALIWALL). We are currently working to obtain certification for HVAC technicians, cogeneration system technicians, heat pump technicians, and biomass boiler installers.
Knowledge and skills
a) Heat pumps A 40-hour advanced training program that teaches participants how a heat pump works and allows them to identify its characteristics as well as operating and sizing parameters. We can also provide long-term trainings.
b) Solar thermal energy A 56-hour training on solar thermal installations, after which the trainee will have the opportunity to take the QUALIWALL certification test. This certification will enable the installer's clients to qualify for the solar water heater bonus.
These two training programs are intended for job seekers as well as students, teachers, trainers, and workers. All but the job seekers must pay for the training, but it can be financed through training vouchers.
